Silk Scarf Frames for Trinity Village

In partnership with the University of Waterloo’s Engineering a Difference program, the Waterloo Hybrid team volunteered their time to help out a local retirement residence, Trinity Village, by creating silk scarf frames. The residents and staff at Trinity Village had been wanting to start a silk scarf decorating craft program for more than 2 years, but did not have the resources required to make the frames needed to decorate the scarves. The members of Waterloo Hybrid decided to help out by picking up the all the materials, cutting and machining the components in the student machine shop, and then assembling all the parts of the frames. With these frames completed and now in the hands of Trinity Village, potentially hundreds of retirement residents in Waterloo Region will have access to the silk scarf decorating program.
